Courses with Kelvin Chua, Visiting Guest Instructor

We are excited to be hosting Kelvin Chua from vinism sugarart who is visiting and teach you a few of his amazing projects.

 

Kelvin Chua is the award-winning founder of vinism sugarart based in Malaysia. He is an internationally recognized cake artist and master of royal icing and cake painting. He has won many awards and competitions and is now traveling worldwide to showcase his amazing skill to passionate students. Kelvin was also the winner of Royal Icing Category in Cake Masters Magazine Award 2018. A hugely lovable personality and one of the few male international tutors, Kelvin is very popular with Blossom Cakes' students.

 

Kelvin works almost exclusively with royal icing and teaches students how to pipe in 2D and 3D decorations, create embroidery effects, stained glass effects, lace effects and many other exquisitely unique features in royal icing.

Kelvin Chua Masterclass - Koi

A creation inspired by the oriental painting.
Students will learn: how to make royal icing, understanding the usage of different royal icing consistencies, master the technique of royal icing pressure piping and painting on royal icing.

A creation inspired by the oriental embroidery.
Students will learn: how to make royal icing, understanding the usage of different royal icing consistencies and master the technique of royal icing tube embroidery.
Everything is piped with royal icing on this creation, nothing is painted.

Kelvin Chua Masterclass - Masquerade

 

A creation inspired by the Venetian mask.
Students will learn: how to pipe royal icing filigree mask, filigree dragonfly and piping royal icing Baroque scrolls using pressure piping technique and piping royal icing string work.
Students will also learn how to paint with edible colours on sugarpaste.​
