Courses with Kelvin Chua

We are excited to be hosting Kelvin Chua from vinism sugarart who is visiting and teach you a few of his amazing projects.

 

Kelvin Chua is the award-winning founder of vinism sugarart based in Malaysia. He is an internationally recognized cake artist and master of royal icing and cake painting. He has won many awards and competitions and is now traveling worldwide to showcase his amazing skill to passionate students. A hugely lovable personality and one of the few male international tutors, Kelvin is very popular with Blossom Cakes' students.

 

Kelvin works almost exclusively with royal icing and teaches students how to pipe in 2D and 3D decorations, create embroidery effects, stained glass effects, lace effects and many other exquisitely unique features in royal icing.

Kelvin Chua Masterclass - Angel

A creation inspired by Wedgwood Jasperware Collection. In this workshop, you will learn how to create royal icing bas-relief effect on cake using various techniques eg pressure piping and run out, creating 2 dimensional bas-relief angels topper, creating stunning Baroque decorative ornament using brush embroidery, piping beautiful flower wreath and piping upside down royal icing string work. Open to all levels however students should already know how to cover styrofoam cake dummies with sugar paste as this will not be taught in the workshop.

Kelvin Chua Masterclass - Oriental

A creation inspired by the mandarin dress. In this workshop, you will be learning how to make a 3 dimensional collar using sugarpaste, several essential royal icing piping techniques including piping filigree buttons, stitching effect on the collar, royal icing string work, pressure piping and brush embroidery along with painting techniques. Open to all levels however students should already know how to cover styrofoam cake dummies with sugar paste as this will not be taught in the workshop.

Kelvin Chua Masterclass - Fairytale

A Royal Icing creation that will fulfill every girl's dream. In this 2 days workshop, kelvin will guide you through every steps to reproduce this beautiful gazebo and carriage of dream using various essential Royal Icing techniques from basic piping, pressure piping to run out. Be ready to be amazed by what you will be taking home after the class !
Open to all levels however basic understanding of Royal Icing piping is essential.
