Course Overview

Join us for a fun and creative summer with the Summer Kids Nerikiri Wagashi Course! Led by Ringo AuYeung from Blossom Cakes, this course introduces children to the art of Nerikiri Wagashi, a traditional Japanese sweet made with white bean paste and "gyuhi" dough as the outer layer. Kids will learn to colour, knead, and shape the dough into adorable summer-themed designs using simple Wagashi tools. Through three lessons, children will create their own delicious masterpieces while exploring Japanese culture and enhancing their hands-on skills. This course is specially designed for kids, filled with joy and creativity!

Age: 10 to 15 years old

Schedule ⏰: Approx. 2 hours/session - AM (10:00 am - 12:00 pm) and PM (2:00 pm - 4:00 pm) sessions available

Course Details

Lesson 1: Shaping Animal Designs

Dates: 18/7 (AM & PM), 11/8 (AM & PM)

Hands-on: Knead and shape different animal designs, including a Shiba Inu🐶, Frog🐸, and Bunny🐰.

Lesson 2: Crafting Detailed Floral and Summer Designs

Dates: 27/7 (AM & PM), 13/8 (AM & PM)

Hands-on: Shape an Iris🪻, Hydrangea💮, and Summer Fan🪭, adding details like petals and leaves.

Lesson 3: Mastering Colour Blending and Detailed Designs

Dates: 27/7 (AM & PM), 13/8 (AM & PM)

Hands-on: Create a Panda🐼, Cat🐱, and Chrysanthemum🌸, using layered colours and intricate details.
